Radio frequency jammers – also known as RF jammers, cellular jammers, cell phone jammers, wideband jammers and bomb jammers – are devices designed to prevent radio-based communication devices from successfully operating. Radio frequency jammers interrupt communications by broadcasting radio transmissions on the particular frequencies used by the targeted devices.
RF jamming is critical in many tactical scenarios, such as preventing the remote detonation of road-side bombs (RCIEDs) and obstructing the communication channels of terrorist or riot organizers. Jammers are also widely deployed in facilities such as prisons and military installations.
